Padoin.com is an information database on nothing but people around the globe that have Padoin as their last name.

Most, if not all of the Padoin's, stem from the same area in northern Italy and we are descendants of emigrating Italians. There are several families in Brazil, there is one in Norway, at least one in Paris, France, one in Ohio, Ottawa, Iowa, California and of course many in Italy, for instance in Pieve di Soligo, Firenze, Napoli, Milano and Roma. If you are a Padoin and you are not already on the list, or if you wish to update your information, or most importantly, if you know a Padoin that is not on the list, then please be so kind as to email us any information you may have. The language thing is sometime squite difficult. What is it like to communicate with someone and neither speak the same language? Well, I can say that from personal experience, it is possible! Sure, there are difficulties, but if there's a will... I use one of the internet language translators called SYSTRAN. It isn't great, but it works. Try it out, and post a message in the guestbook in a language you didn't know you knew! Also try: Online Free Translation, Online Inter Tran or Altavista Babelfish. Maybe this Portugese Dictionary might help you out too.

The interest in obtaining an email account, for instance firstname@padoin.com has been significant. Currently padoin.com is not set up to handle extra accounts, but IT WILL. This service will not be free in order to avoid people registering unlimited number of addresses. The fee charged per account depends on how many Padoin's are interested. One account is very expensive, while 50 is less expensive. If only one person wants an email account, it will cost 10 US dollars for that person pr. month. If 20 people wants one, it will cost 10 US dollars pr. person pr. year. The more people interested, the less expensive pr. person. The email accounts are full POP accounts, which means you can check your mail from any emailprogram anywhere in the world, both send and receive.

Please feel free to email us requesting the setup of your email account. Every Padoin may register his or her first name, on a first come, first serve basis. Username requests that are received before the email service is implemented will be registered first. Additional usernames may be registered at the discretion of the domain owner. Examples of this would be ; FamilyMeeting2001@padoin.com or Brazil2001@padoin.com if there was to be a family reunion in Brazil for instance.



Extra - Did you know that;

"Padoin" in the Finnish language means "dikes", plural of "dyke", in other words the pysical structure that protects a body of land against the ocean. They have lots of them in Holland. Now you know what they are?

"Padoin" is also a missing brother of one of the characters in the "Tales of Carpathia". I have never read them myself, but I have been told "Padoin" is a character from this story.

Also; "Padoin" is the honorary designation of a Jedi Apprentice in the tales of Star Wars, by George Lucas. In the Phantom Menace, which is the movie that came out in 1999, Anakin Skywalker is the "Padoin Learner" of Obi-Wan Kenobi, who in turn was the "Padoin Learner" of Qui-Gon Jin. A Padoin Learner is the first step towards becoming a Jedi Master.
